RALI & NAMI Resources Available

As we work together to tackle COVID-19, there are also critical steps we can take to address the opioid crisis and help our neighbors and loved ones who are struggling. During this time, we must stay vigilant and learn to recognize the warning signs of substance misuse. People may fall back on unhealthy behaviors, but, armed with the right information, we can all be on the lookout for signs that point to a problem.

The Rx Abuse Leadership Initiative of Iowa, or RALI, brings together national, state and community leaders to exchange best practices and provide resources that help prevent misuse of prescription medicines. Some steps we can all take from home include properly disposing of unwanted or expired medications and learning the warning signs of substance misuse.

RALI Iowa recently created a video with the help of their partner, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Iowa, which is full of local resources that you can access from home if you or a loved one need help. Watch the video here or visit namiiowa.org for more information about their services.
