On June 5-9, 2023 the Governor’s School Safety Bureau (GSSB) and the Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting an ALERRT Level 1 Train the Trainer course in Sloan, Iowa. This is a 5-day free of cost Law Enforcement only training event.  The ALERRT Level 1 course is designed to be an entry-level course on how to respond to active shooter events to include arrival, entry, search, encounter, security, incident command and medical aspects of the event.  There is no prerequisite for this training but preferred experience in tactical, firearms and or LE training. This training is vital to be able to instruct and outfit all area Law Enforcement with common knowledge for an active shooter event.
