Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Sheriff.                 

Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office is seeking to fill a Full-Time Deputy Sheriff position. 

Primary duties include enforcing laws and ordinances to maintain public safety and order, patrol all assigned areas within the County, conduct investigations, gather evidence, and make arrests as necessary, provide assistance and support to victims of crimes or accidents, assisting fire departments and ambulance as needed, serve legal documents such as warrants and subpoenas, and assist other law enforcement agencies on joint operations or investigations as needed. 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation
  • Must meet the physical requirements of the position, which includes running, lifting, and restraining individuals if necessary
  • Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior law enforcement experience or military experience
  • Certification as a peace officer or deputy sheriff
