TELESPAN COMMUNICATIONS, INC. COMPLETES MERGER WITH NCIC INMATE COMMUNICATIONS

Des Moines, Iowa – September 15, 2023

Telespan Communications, Inc., a leading provider of Inmate Communications and investigative technologies and NCIC Inmate Communications, the largest independently-owned provider of Inmate Communications and educational technologies in the United States, today announced a definitive merger to enhance their offerings and further solidify their growing footprint in the Midwest.

The merger with NCIC Inmate Communications, based in Longview, Texas, further increases Telespan’s share in the Inmate Communications market. “The combination of Telespan and NCIC will provide our correctional clients with an even more robust service experience and further strengthen our investigative network in the Midwest.” said Karin Sandahl, President of Telespan. “The partnership is also expected to foster greater efficiencies in service delivery by expanding our network of Field Technicians and customer support specialists,” added Karin.

“A merger was formed with Telespan to help NCIC strengthen its presence in the Midwest and provide correctional agencies with an even stronger choice for an independently-owned technology provider” said Bill Pope, President of NCIC. “By pooling our resources, Telespan and NCIC can offer greater access to important correctional technologies for law enforcement agencies, as well as to critical educational and rehabilitative resources for incarcerated individuals,” added Bill.

The merger of Telespan and NCIC will operate under the NCIC brand, moving forward. “We feel strongly that due to the long-running alignment of our corporate philosophies, it made sense to solidify our presence and move forward with a unified front,” explained Karin, There has been no interruption in service or operations for Telespan’s existing customers as the merger was completed. NCIC will continue to support Iowa State Sheriffs and Deputies Association (ISSDA) events as normal, bolstered by Karin’s continued involvement.
